PostSubject: The Major Cities and their Sphere of Influence   Mon Aug 18, 2008 11:07 am

Here follows a list of the three major cities in the land of Forlorn and their spheres of influence. I will attempt to summarize each cities ethos and alignment as well as their systems of government. This is a basic outline of the balance of power and does not address any in game role play that may blur the lines that separate the three extreme cases.

The players and their characters affect all things in Forlorn, up to and including what influence each major city may have over certain areas. A player character is not able to take over one of the three major cities or a major sub-city. Consider it to be the strength of their supporters and the influence of the Deities that prohibits a player's character from doing so.

The Deities Tyr, Torm and Bane are quite active and directly influence the political structures therein. Other deities of influence have limited activity such as Helm, Ilmater, Tempus, Cyric and the pantheons of the other major races. Just as with the ability to affect the influences of the three major cities, player characters can also have an impact on the deities of forlorn. If a group were to arise that begins to play a large role in Forlorn and worships another deity, that deity would then assume a more active role in these lands.

PostSubject: The Kingdom of Prosperity   Mon Aug 18, 2008 11:22 am

The Kingdom of Prosperity is ruled by King Aden. He and his Knights were directly responsible for pushing Braxxus South to Desecration's Gates.

Prosperity is a Kingdom that is closely affiliated with the church of Tyr. The major sub-cities of Prosperity are Bowen's Reach and Herbert's Lookout. Bowen's Reach houses the Temple of Torm and is ruled by the Paladin-Knight Bowen.

King Aden recognizes that after the assault on Desecration's Gates it caused his Kingdom to become weakened and their major concern now is the defense of what they currently hold.

Forlorn City is ruled by a council and considers itself to be neutral. Holding a seat on the Council are Goodwin, Bryce, Issa, and Shamoke the Entrepreneur, who filled the seat vacated by an unknown wealthy benefactor. Forlorn City has in the past been allied with both Desecration's Gates and Prosperity, depending on whom they feel is the biggest threat to the balance of Forlorn. Both Good and Evil are tolerated as citizens and visitors in Forlorn City and it's holdings. Citizens of Forlorn City or it's holdings are expected to be loyal to her.

The Temple of Wuakeen holds itself responsible for the well being of Forlorn City's citizens.

All visitors are expected to respect the laws and neutrality of Forlorn City. Using Forlorn City as a battleground to settle disputes may result in the involved parties being jailed, fined and or banned from Forlorn City. It is understood that not all beings are friends, and some are mortal enemies, but Forlorn City is not the place to engage in open hostilities toward one another. Anyone present during an attack on Forlorn City would do well to join in it's defense.

Desecration's Gates is a Totalitarian City State ruled by Lord Braxxus. Bane takes an active role in the activities and aspirations of Desecration's Gates.

It's major holding is the fortress known as Dystopia which is the dominion of Braxxus' right hand and lead General, Samiam.

It is the desire of Desecration's Gates to retake the lands all the way to the Northern Sea where Prosperity now lies. Samiam is responsible for training the Devils and Demons that are used to attack and cause general havoc in the lands while the real armies of Braxxus are assembled and prepared to march North.

The first step toward Prosperity is to recapture Forlorn City and from there launch an attack on Prosperity. Minor attacks are launched at times against Prosperity in an effort to test strength and keep them from becoming too strong.
